Check out your local grocery stores... many of them will hire 15 year olds. Make sure you get a work permit first though

Plumbing question - the hot water in our kitchen is not working. We live in Pittsburgh?
Subzero temperatures lately. The cold water in the kitchen sink is working, and the hot and cold water everywhere else works fine. Could it be a frozen pipe?

Believe it or not, hot water freezes faster than cold water in pipes. Have you opened the doors under the sink? In such cold weather, an extra 10 degrees by not closing these doors can make a difference.

hey i live in pittsburgh 2!!!!!! its frikin freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but um idk i guess it could b frozen. sry. go pittsburgh!!!

Apartment or house? Open the cabinets under the sink to let some warm air in but it sounds like just the hot water supply is frozen so you'll have to go into the basement and see if you can locate the hot water feed. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to thaw.

A frozen pipe would be my first guess. You didn't say anything about your home so I can only guess what could cause a pipe to freeze. Your problem isn't what caused it but what to do about it: first you should open the lower cabinet doors to allow some warm air in to warm the pipes, open the tap and wait a couple of hours. You can also use a hair dryer to warm the pipes up. To prevent this from happening again you will need to open the tap to a very slow drip and let it drip all night during freezing weather. When things warm up you need to get a plumber in to find out where your pipes might be freezing.

word of caution--a lot of times when pipes freeze they split or break at the joints---usually you dont know they are broke till they are thawed. Stick around till you find out or you can come home to a flood !!

turn the water supply off under the sink, remove the supply line from the hot side of the faucet, wrap a towel around the line and turn the water on very slowly, make sure you have water to this point,if you do the the problem is gonna be in the faucet it self, remove the hot side knob and stem if designed that way,if you have the type faucet that has one handle that controls both hot&cold then turn off both supply lines and remove the handle from the direction assembly, then remove them retaining nut that holds the direction assy.remove the ball from the seat and remove the rubber boots and springs ,turn the water on under the sink (very slowly&a little at a time)all your wanting to do is get the debris out of the line, after doin this reassemble everything, but before you turn the water back on remove the aaeratorand let the water run for a few seconds ,this will make sure you ddon'tget debris in the aaerator if you have the stem type faucet then just remove the hot side stem and turn the hot side on the same way as in the single handle faucet and get the debris out. now would be a great time to replace any washers or rubber boots and spring sets, while you have it apart, everything you will need to replace this can be purchased at your local hardware store.
